Editorial

I hope you will enjoy the Christmas articles and my thanks to the contributors.
For the March issue, the subject is ‘What change in your lifetime has been most meaningful to you?’
Could be an incident in your personal life or the  huge explosion in communication via satellite and internet. It could be wider and cheaper air travel or central heating or improved domestic appliances.
It has been a period of great change in every area of life: the changes in the law on homosexuality, the fight for equal pay and rights for women, the attitudes towards illegitimacy, the wider dispersal of family members from rural areas to towns marking the end of large family support systems. You will think of loads more  so please write about it. High on my list would be the Internet: I never cease to marvel at the wonders it makes accessible. How about you?

A very pleasant Social Evening was enjoyed by Group Leaders and Committee at St Mary’s Church Hall  Goldington on
November  3rd. After a chat and refreshments, Mike Ward welcomed everyone and thanked the Group Leaders for the time and effort they put in to make their groups rewarding for members. Ken Thomas introduced himself as the new
Coordinator and thanked Gill Kilby for the help she had given him. Ken asked if there were any  improvements / changes that Group Leaders would like to see. Several members put forward ideas which were generally discussed. Wendy Read was responsible for the excellent buffet. For both Ken, and Wendy this was their first ‘outside’ assignment and  we can relax knowing that we are in good hands!.
